Music therapy matters, I think Sawyer is hotter than Jack, a birthday, and a sandwich

What a week, friends, what a week.  Let’s see.  I realized that I am a better, more attractive person when I pretend that somebody is watching me.

Stephanie from Mommy, For Real authored the second contribution in The Our Land Series – where empathy and wonder rule.  She did an amazing job of sharing how she creates magic through music for a group of wonderful special needs children.  If you didn’t have a chance to read her inspiring submission, you still have time.  It’s worth it.  Note: If you’d like to submit a piece for consideration, email me using the handy contact form (black box on left sidebar).  Also?  If you didn’t have a chance to read the first week, you should take time to do that, too.  Because, well, awesome.

Yesterday, I invited Sawyer from Lost to be my cabana boy on an imaginary island.  Tonight, I spent a couple of minutes looking for Josh Holloway’s (the actor) legit Twitter handle so I could tweet my invitation to him.  Sadly, Robert doesn’t understand that it’s worth five minutes of my time trying to figure it out.  Let me know if any of you are connected.

Also this week, The Sadder but Wiser Girl (who is awesome) told the whole world that she likes me.  On her birthday, no less.  If you haven’t told Sadder Sarah who is in her last year of an age that begins with the number 3 (unless she lives to be 300), HAPPY BIRTHDAY, take a minute to do so.  And AWWW just look at her little adorable one-year old self.  Seriously.

As if that weren’t exciting enough, Kenya, the fabulous author of her blog Here’s the Thing and her books The Christopher Chronicles (read!) named a sandwich after me.  It’s true.  She did.

Don’t tell her that her sandwich looks better than the one I made today though because we (and by we, I mean I) want her to remain forever in awe of my super-creative-inspired sandwich making capabilities and keep The Kristi Sandwich on the menu forever.

Next up, which I was going to include here but realize that you are busy people and are likely DONE, stay tuned for how put baby powder on my boobs this afternoon and how I got Tucker to tolerate me washing his hair.

Happy weekend.

  • Kenya G. Johnson - That’s for the shout out. I’m definitely looking forward to what baby powder in the boobs is about. If it keeps them from sweating underneath at night, then I’ll put someone on my grocery list. Do tell – quickly! I”ve run out of all my Kristi ingredients except for the hummus. I swear that tub is lasting forever. Now I want a different flavor. I need to know how to make it myself. But that is seriously too much work.May 5, 2013 – 8:28 amReplyCancel

  • Kristi - Kenya,
You’re very welcome for the shout out! And sadly, no, I did not use baby powder on my boobs to prevent them from sweating at night (although I’ll admit that I’ve started wearing a bra when I sleep mostly because I’m too lazy to take it off). I will share this – at this point in your life, you probably won’t need to use it the way I had to use it. I do not baby powder and tell early. 😉
If you like spicy stuff, I’ve been addicted to jalapeño hummus recently. And yeah, making it yourself sounds like WAY too much work. We’re busy. We’re allowed to not make more work for ourselves. Right?May 5, 2013 – 9:07 amReplyCancel

  • The Sadder But Wiser Girl - Thanks for the mention, isn’t sharing the love fun?! I saw the link on my phone late last night and am just now getting over to read it. 😉 That sandwich DOES look good!May 5, 2013 – 9:58 amReplyCancel
