Of course I hate it when Tucker gets ill. What parent on the planet would not take every runny nose, cough, bump and belly ache on herself to relieve her child of it? As there is to just about everything, there’s a plus side to my normally extremely active three-year-old boy not feeling 100%. I get the best snuggles in the world. Even though I feel a tiny bit sorry for Robert when Tucker insists that he has to sit only on mommy’s lap, I puff up with pride that he wants me. I understand that I need to soak up these moments now, because time flies. Before I know it, Tucker’s going to insist on not kissing me in public and not holding my hand, ever. When he begs me to drop him off down the street from the school so he’s not even seen with me, I’m going to take out the memory of him needing to be attached to me every waking moment and get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about those sick days.
